Trauma-Informed, Embodied Approach to Healing
I use a trauma-informed, holistic, and collaborative approach to therapy, integrating the body, mind, and spirit into the healing process.
My approach is generally supportive and nurturing, yet challenging. I strive to attune to each client's needs, understanding that each person's path to healing is as unique as they are.
I have years of experience working in community mental health settings with adolescents, adults, and families who are working through the effects of trauma and substance abuse who experience a range of mental health issues.
I have experience offering mental health and substance use treatment in both individual and group settings. I work to empower clients to find their voice, to engage in their own unique healing process, and to move towards healthy lives and relationships. I believe that therapy should be a to calm and nurturing environment, so I work with each individual to build a supportive therapeutic relationship where they can develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life.
I worl with adults struggling with issues related to trauma, CPTSD, PTSD, sexual assault, stress management, anxiety, depression, sex, relationships, and communication.
I love helping clients to connect with their bodies through mindfulness exercises and deep breathing techniques.
I am trained in EMDR therapy, have completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, and am currently pursuing training in trauma-informed yoga with Zabie Yamasaki; founder of Transcending Sexual Trauma through Yoga.
